Sherri began practicing yoga in 1996 at the age of sixteen after years of training as a competitive gymnast and later a professional dancer. Through yoga, she was able to heal many of the residual aches and pains that were the result of moving without compassion and mindfulness for her body. Yoga seemed to bring the missing piece of her desire for physical movement combined with a spiritual practice. Sheri completed her 200- RYT Hatha teacher training in 2011 through Yoga West in Katy, Texas under the guidance of Kristin Abel and Jeanne Wheat. She was teaching in various studios around the Houston area before moving to Livermore with her family last year. Sheri has studied Ashtanga, Vinyasa, and Anusara yoga each of which influence her teaching style of a flow practice with an emphasis on alignment to help students find space in their bodies to better experience the poses. She looks to empower students to make their practice their own and take yoga off their mat and into their everyday lives. When Sheri is not on her mat, she can be found teaching ballet, homeschooling her three daughters, and exploring the wonders of her new home state with her husband.
